Marvetta Baker passed away peacefully November 18, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born to Alfred William Lindsay and Cella Pauline Hansen Lindsay on February 26, 1922 in Groveland, Idaho. She married her high school sweetheart Harry Eugene Baker on August 3, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Marvetta was a devoted, loving and hardworking mother and grandmother. She held many different callings in the LDS church during her life. She was well known for her homemade candy and hand dipped chocolates.
Marvetta is survived by her sons, Brent Lynn Baker, Garry Lee Baker (Ellen), Bryce Wayne Baker (Sally), 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Eugene Baker, their son, Larry Eugene Baker, their daughter-in-law Peggy Joanne Young Baker and their great-grandson Lukas Benjamin Baker. A special thanks to Ryan and Lindsay Baker and their family who lovingly cared for her the last five years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosecrest 1st Ward, 3101 South 2300 East, where friends can visit with the family from 9:30am to 10:40 a.m. prior to the service.
