Mary Adele Anderson Pfaff peacefully passed away on March 9, 2010 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on December 9, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Milton and Mary Caroline Jaderholm Anderson. She married Charles Albert Pfaff on May 21, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. One of the highlights of her life was spending four years in San Francisco while Charles served in the Coast Guard. They returned to Salt Lake City and started their family.
Adele loved to cook for her family, especially baking cookies for the grandchildren. Her grandchildren still love to reminisce about her cookies, pies and dinners. She was an avid bridge player enjoying time with her group of friends for 50 years. She was president of the Young Matrons Club with the YWCA.
She is survived by her three children: Carolyn Pfaff Paul, Tom (Shauna) Pfaff and Christine Pfaff Schrauf; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Bonnie Bowers and Mary Jane Kirkman. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles.
A graveside services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Drive. Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to graveside services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
