Mary Ann Tucholski, the matriarch of our family and also known as,"The Little Red Hen," passed away peacefully at her home in Taylorsville on May 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 20, 1938, in Farmington, Utah, Mary Ann made an impression on and a lifelong friend out of everyone she met.
Mary Ann proudly earned her GED at the remarkable age of 50, demonstrating her dedication and strength. Her career as a recreational therapist at Bennion Care Center allowed her to touch the lives of many, showcasing her cheerful and caring nature that made others feel at ease. Known for her warmth, she welcomed everyone into her life with open arms, creating a nurturing home that embodied security and comfort.
Mary Ann cherished the moments spent with her family, creating countless memories steeped in love and togetherness. No matter where they lived, her home was a gathering place where laughter echoed and hearts felt safe. She radiated a friendly spirit, ensuring that everyone felt accepted and valued. She was a confidant to so many. She was the best at staying in touch and truly listening to everybody’s words as well as knowing how they actually felt, no matter what. She was passionate about gardening, and sewing outfits for her children and outfits for Barbie Dolls.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Don Tucholski and wife Kris, daughter Deborah Lujan and husband Manuel, daughter Denise Foster and husband Jeff, along with five beautiful grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Sheena, Shellene, and Levi. 10 treasured great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren all of which she treasured dearly. Mary Ann also held many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and wonderful neighbors close to her heart, each one enriched by her kindness.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Bernard Tucholski, who had a profound impact on her life. MarSki were lovebirds that shared an eternity’s worth of memories together. She is also reunited with her parents, Malachi Keller and Lillie Larson Keller, along with seven sisters and two brothers, creating a beautiful family reunion beyond this world.
As we remember Mary Ann, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to love, laughter, and the enrichment of those around her. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through her family and friends, held dearly in hearts fondly captivated by her gentle spirit.
