Mary Rose Bernard

Mary Rose Bernard, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at her home in Garland, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on May 15, 1950. She lived a life centered around love, family, and service to others. On May 31, 1990, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Bernard. Together they built a life rooted in devotion and family.

Mary was the kindest woman, brilliant, caring, and an absolute joy to be around. She could tell stories for hours, each one filled with warmth and laughter. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. She was an amazing cook, and no one ever left her house hungry. In fact, she made sure everyone else had eaten before she ever sat down herself.

If you ever visited Mary, you didn’t leave with dirty clothes. She would insist on washing them. Taking care of others wasn’t something she did; it was who she was. She never put herself above anyone else. Her life was a constant example of selflessness, generosity, and unconditional love.

Mary had many friends who adored her and colleagues who respected her deeply. She had a natural ability to befriend people wherever she went, with her sharp wit and caring heart.

In her professional life, Mary’s determination and work ethic were just as remarkable. She began her career as a bank teller and, through her dedication and exceptional people skills, worked her way up to become a vice president.

Mary loved her family deeply. She had a story for each of us and made everyone feel special and seen. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home wherever she was.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Paul Dodd (Wife Tara) and Tony Dodd; her daughter, Chantell Ann Bernard; her granddaughter, Ashli Kay Nogueras (Husband Gabriel); her grandsons, Brandon Reid Dodd, Cameron Jeffery Dodd, Carter Jeffery Montoya, and Axton Ross Montoya; and her Great Grandchildren Ari Anthony Nogueras, Naomi Kay Nogueras

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Rose Newbold, and her father, Paul Max Stott.

A viewing will be held on March 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by graveside funeral services at 2:00 PM, at Mountain View Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The viewing will be open to all who wish to attend.

Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her stories, her cooking, and the way she made every person feel cared for.
