With great sadness, we announce the death of Mary B. Clippinger on September 8, 2010. Mary was born in upstate New York in 1911 to James and Helen Bortz. After receiving a college degree in education, she married Ray Clippinger in 1933. They resided in Rochester, New York and enjoyed summers at Camp Pathfinder, Algonquin Park. After Ray's death in 1995, Mary moved to Salt Lake City to be with her daughter, Jean Nuismer, and her family.
Forever remembering Mary with love are her daughter Jean Nuismer (Ralph), her granddaughter Lauren Aquino (Dave), her grandson Scott Nuismer (Dana), and her great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Avery Aquino.
Mary was known for her friendliness, optimism, and love of life. She enjoyed sports, bridge, theater, reading, the Utah Jazz, the out-of-doors, befriending stray animals and time spent with family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A family service will be held at a later date in Trumansburg, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Algonquin Campership Fund, Rochester Area Community Foundation, 500 East Avenue, Rochester NY, 14607. Our family wishes to extend appreciation to the staff of Brighton Gardens and Sunbrook Hospice for the care and attention Mary received in her final days.
