Mary Elizabeth Hunter Ika

On September 28, 2025, the heavens gained another angel.

Mary was born on January 13, 1979 to Paul & Susan Hunter, in Rawlins, Wyoming. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her precious children, Elena, Kiana, Dion, Jaden, Callie, Leah, and Percy, her mother Susan Hunter, and sisters, Rebecca Hunter, Suzanne (James) Laforett, Sara Hunter, Melody (Rob) Daily, and Cajsa (Travis) Allen, and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles from near and far.

Mary joined her father, Paul Hunter, and brother, Gabriel Hunter, in heaven, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her children, mother, sisters and many of her nieces and nephews. She was too good for this world.

Her favorite color was pink, and she loved Mexican food. Mary’s favorite song was I’m Going Down by Mary J. Blige, and her life was filled with music, laughter, and love. She had a gift for humor, with her funny lines and hilarious personality always lightening the mood and making those around her laugh.

Mary loved her family with eternal devotion. She had the kindest heart and was always “over the top” in showing her love and showing up for her family. She loved being a Mom. She cherished her children and her family more than anything in the world. She touched countless lives with her strength, her humor, and her love, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
