Mary Ruth Leaver Allen

Mary Allen, beloved wife, adored mother, loving grandmother and true friend, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

She was born May 25, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gerald and Arvilla Morley Leaver.  She attended the University of Utah where she met and then married Wallace H. Allen on July 1, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mary loved to fish, camp, take rides in the mountains, golf, and play with her grandchildren.  She loved cooking for family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Lynn) Christensen, Sherry, and Elizabeth Cronkrite; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally, parents, brother (Frank), and granddaughters, Heather and Nichole.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Olympus Stake Center, 2675 East 4430 South, Holladay, UT.  Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Stake Center prior to the services.  Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society or Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
