Mary Virginia Pumhof Otterstrom, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mary was born on November 11, 1942, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She later married the love of her life, Rodney Melrose Otterstrom, on October 8, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.
Mary had a deep love for simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and was especially fond of Louis L’Amour novels. She adored her dogs, who brought her endless comfort and joy throughout the years. Mary also loved spending time outdoors, camping and traveling whenever she had the chance. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting Wendover, where she enjoyed the excitement and fun of gambling trips.
She is survived by her three sons, Mike, Joey, and Billy, and her two grandchildren, Michael and Jorden. her two brothers, Jim and Ray Plumhof.
Mary will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence, and the joy she found in life’s everyday moments. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be treasured by all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Mary's life will take place on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah.
