Mary Gough Tadje, age 89, passed away August 20, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary was born April 17, 1923, in Salt Lake City, Utah to James L and Mary Crookston Gough.

She was the oldest of 6 children; preceded in death by her brothers James and Lawrence Gough, sisters Amy Clark and Jean Painter. She is survived by her sister Evelyn (Don) Anderson.

Mary met the love of her life Ray Tadje in the Salt Lake First Ward, and married him in 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death in 1962. We know she had a sweet reunion with Ray after 50 years of separation. Her posterity was her joy; she had five lovely daughters: Gay (George) Hemingway, Sue Ann (Ken) Pugmire, Martha (Butch) Israelsen, Patrice Tadje, and Paula (Ron) Aoyama. She had 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mary loved to travel and was able to explore many parts of the world including Europe, Asia, the Pacific Islands and Mexico. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, her cabin in Lemon Grove, and country music. She was an active member of the LDS, serving in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. She worked for many years as an Administrative Officer at the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. She served as a docent at the University of Utah Museum of Art, and an officer of Ladies Literary Club.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude for her caregivers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at noon at the Holbrook Mortuary located at 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Viewing will be 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the service.
