Max Eugene Harding, 87 our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on November 30, 2012 in the presence of many loving family members. Max was born to Albert Talmage Harding and Ethel Flygare at Provo, Utah on June 20, 1925. He married Bernice Gardner on January 13, 1942, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Children include RonnE (Jan) Harding, Paul Russell Harding (deceased), Philip (Thana) Harding, Peggy Magid, and Vicki Harding with 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. This marriage later ended in divorce. Max married Arna Lewis Roper on January 11, 1988. He was beloved by his second family Kevin (Cindy) Roper, Clark (Lisa) Roper, Sherry (Jim) Hyde with 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his sister Alice Derr and two brothers Jack (Dorit) Harding and Douglas (Evelyn) Harding.

He fought in the Pacific in World War II where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for valor. He worked over 30 years at Sears and later ZCMI in sales. He served in numerous positions of leadership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including a mission to Columbus, Ohio with his wife Arna. He was a loving and gentle man for whom family was most important. He could fix or build almost anything and loved to work in his yard and garden.

A viewing will be held at Holbrook Mortuary at 3251 S 2300 E, Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 12:00 pm in the Kenwood 1st Ward Chapel, 1765 E 3080 S. A viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the church.
