"Beloved Husband and Father"
Max Valentine Munk passed away peacefully March 2, 2009 surrounded by his family and with his loving wife holding his hand. Max was born February 14, 1927 in Centerfield, Utah to Louis and Dagmar Munk.
He married Jean McComas in Manti, Utah on May 3, 1952, solemnized later in the Salt Lake Temple. Born and raised in Sanpete County. Honorably served in the United States Army Medical Corps during WWII. Owned and operated Crest Aluminum for 45 years. Enjoyed photography, traveling, golfing, camping and fishing trips. He centered his life around his family and will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.
He leaves behind his eternal wife of 56 years Jean; daughter Cheryl Frost (Ed); sons Christian (Eric), Matthew (Meri); grandchildren Robert, Daniel, Crystal, Alaina, Whitney and Courtney; five great-grandchildren; brothers Keith and Donald; sisters Mavis Hansen, Betty Barton, Barbara Lunt, Luella Jorgensen, Charlene Seeley and many nieces, nephews and numerous life-long friends. Preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers Claine and Robert and sister DeEtte.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Butler 10th Ward, 6600 South Greenfield Way (1800 East). Friends and family may visit Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the LDS church Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. The family would like to thank all of the care workers from Harmony Health Care, Garden Terrace and the staff at the Veterans Hospital for the excellent compassionate care they gave him, and a special thank you to Ed Hansen for all his tender care.
