Mehalate “Dottie” Tu’itupou

Mehalate “Dottie” Tu’itupou, age 46, died October 15, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born March 18, 1977 in Vaiola Hospital, Tongatapu, Tonga.

Mehalate or as she was also known by “Dottie”, loved to sing, play the piano, dance, and playing volleyball. She loved getting dolled up for any occasion. Hair, nails, and makeup? She did it all and she did it so well. What brought her the most joy was spoiling and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She really did love them all.

She is survived by her loving parents Luke and Tevunga, siblings Samiu (Jenn), Nonu, Mona (Clyde), Kalisi (Andy), Leila, Piukala (Lesieli), Alex (Lisa), and her precious nieces and nephews: Ilaise, Isaiah, Ifalame, Taione, Lolohea, Teanalei, Liberty, Kakala, Samiu, Luke, Irie and David. She was also loved and will be dearly missed by many cousins and extended family as she was the eldest grandchild on both her mom and dads’ side.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fangatua and Hifofua Prescott Kutu and maternal grandparents Siale and Nau Havili.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 27, 2023 at 8:00 AM-12:00PM. Bishop’s service from 12:00-1:00 PM. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. She will be laid to rest with our beautiful grandma Nau Ngohe Vaikeli Havili.
