Melba Anne Swensen

Melba Anne Swensen passed away peacefully at home December 31, 2008. Melba wa born in Leadore, Idaho to Lola Juanita Backman and Arthur Marion Peterson. She married James Glenn Swensen at Salt Lake City, Utah September 5, 1945.

Melba was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She traveled extensively with her military husband, making friends all over the world. Melba was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a gracious woman, loved by all who came to know her.

She is survived by her husband; children, James Jr. (Cynthia), Anne (Sam Alba), Kathleen (Doug) Andrews; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S 2300 E, where friends may visit with the family from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
