Meri Lyn Oshel

November 19, 1944 — September 7, 2022

On Wednesday the Seventh of September, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt left us to go see her loved ones that had proceeded her in death, and to be with the Lord.
It all started for this world on November 19, 1944. On that day Meri was born to Erwin and Mildred Schelin in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had 5 brothers, and one sister (Tom, Diane, Bob, Evan, Ray and Craig). She may have been the sixth child of seven, but make no mistake, she was the baby of the family, getting spoiled by her parents, and siblings, but most of all her dad.
Some years later, Meri would meet Jerry in 1964 while living in San Francisco, when living at a building nick-named The Alamo. There, Meri met Jerry, when her shower broke, and she asked to use his. The two got married on April 7, 1965 in Anderson, California. Seven years later their son Michael was born in Salt Lake City after they had moved to Utah in 1967. The love struck couple were married for 57 years. In her time with us, she became an aunt, and loved family dinners and the playful bantering with her niece Nevien, and in 1998, she became a grandmother to Meri-Elen with whom she loved dearly, and spoiled.
Meri was survived by her Husband, Jerry, her son, Michael (Jamie), granddaughter Meri-Elen, and her brother Evan (Holly). She went to be with her /parents, brothers and sister, Tom (Colleen), Diane (Nevien), Bob (Terry), Ray (Mary) and Craig (Susan). She will be missed by everyone she knew and loved.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Sandy Stake Center on 1050 East Galena Drive. There will be a short viewing the following day, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 11:00-11:30 AM at the same location, followed by funeral services. A funeral procession and graveside service will be held afterwards at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Rd in West Jordan, Utah.
