"Together Forever"

Meta Elisabeth Spiess Daniels passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on December 18, 2009, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Daniels, who passed away in July.

She was born June 28, 1917 in East Prussia, Germany to Carl and Emma Spiess. She married William Daniels on July 25, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1974.

Our mother worked hard beside our father in building a home for their three children. She kept a meticulous home, was always sewing new outfits for her children and grandchildren, and providing nourishing meals all during the years she was a working mother, which was uncommon back in the 1950s and 1960s. She retired after many years with the Federal Government. Above all, her greatest concern was always for the welfare of her family.

Meta is survived by her children Julie (Juergen) Muthreich, Sheryle (Dale) Jager, and Carl Daniels; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Our mother was preceded in death by her parents and an older brother.

Our family would like to thank the several neighbors and ward members for all their help, kindness and watchful eye during the past several months that our parents were in need of their help and companionship.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at Holbrook Mortuary prior to services. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
