Mike Le Sueur, Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, returned to his heavenly father on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Mike passed peacefully in his sleep at home in Heber, Utah. Mike was born in Salt Lake City December 31, 1935 to Walter Bryant Le Sueur and Vaiola Larkins Blood. He married Gloria Jean Robertson on May 26, 1967 in the Salt Lake City temple.
Mike was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the islands of American Samoa from 1956 to 1958. Mike Loved his missionary service and the people he was able to serve. When given the opportunity to extend his mission he elected to stay an additional 6 months to continue to serve the people he had grown to love. His affection for the Samoan people carried throughout his life, whenever an opportunity arose Mike would go out of his way to speak Samoan to any Samoan who would talk to him. Later in life he and his wife Gloria had the opportunity to go back to the islands and see his beloved Samoa.
Mike served in the Army Reserves where, despite the fact he did not particularly like guns, he was very proud to be in the top of his class in marksmanship.
Mike graduated from BYU where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Mike also earned a place on the BYU football team where he played until he sustained a career-ending injury to his back.
Mike had a successful career as a salesman, starting out selling toilet paper to grocery stores and going on to sell pharmaceuticals for Searle Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, and Monsanto. Mike was inducted into the Pro Club multiple times and led his region in sales.
Mike’s true passion was his family. He supported his wife and daughter’s passion for riding horses, hauling hay in the heat of the summer and feeding in the cold of the winter. Even thought he grew up in the avenues of Salt Lake he would attend as many rodeo’s as he could and had been known to go on a few rides with his wife…. very few. Mike also loved to coach, he coached both his boys in baseball and football for a total of 16+ seasons.
Mike is preceded in death by his father and mother, sister Nonnie and brothers, Walter, Larkin, and George.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, son Jay Barker (Casey), daughter Elisa Neilson (Lex), and son Clint Le Sueur (Tina), sister Jane Bowler (Elvin), 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
