Michael Glenn Fidler was born September 22, 1966 to Rex Fidler and Gloria “Jane” Adams Durkee. He unexpectedly left for heaven early October 9, 2023 to meet his twin brother, Adam.
At age 10, his stepmother, Faye Powell had the privilege of helping his father raise a young boy who excelled in running track and was a top seller for the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret newspapers, winning multiple awards.
His hoarded bedroom of broken anything, bicycle parts and whatchamacallits prepared him for his future career as a maintenance mechanic. He worked all over the state.
In his youth, he took his parents’ broken bedroom clock, tore it apart and reassembled it with seven extra pieces. It kept perfect time; however, each minute it ran quiet for 15 seconds and growled loudly the other 45 seconds.
He was given a unicycle by his grandfather and learned to ride it. He loved it so much he purchased a taller unicycle and mastered it. He went rappelling with his father and they took a trip to Egypt together. He never sat still. He was always working and helped friends and neighbors fix anything mechanical.
Unlike in his youth, he kept an immaculate home indoors. Not outdoors. He loved his motorcycles and traveling to Sturgis. Here’s hoping heaven has a few motorcycles waiting for him. He told tall tales that were truer than true, and he should have written them down and made a book. It would be a bestseller. His claim to fame was “I lived on death row and lived to tell about it”. If you met him, you would love him. He made and kept friends everywhere he went. Mike was always kind and loving with a tender heart. He wrapped us up in big bear hugs and expressed his love before going home.
He leaves behind his three parents; siblings Tiffany, Jana, Kathleen, David, Mark, Krystle and Ben; his dogs Sweetie and Shasta; also, many nieces and nephews who love him dearly.
