Michael William Higman, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, at his home in Park City, Utah.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1975, Michael spent his early years in Prairie Village, Kansas. In 1984 he moved with his parents and sister to Park City.
Michael graduated Park City High School in 1993. During his years in the Park City schools he developed a life long love of art, art history, mythology, American history, and world history. He was a member of the Academic Decathlon team, played on the football and tennis teams, and was on the first Park City High School swim team.
In 1994, Michael was certified as a commercial pilot. He studied history at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Michael entered the family car wash business in 1995.
In 1999, Michael met and soon married the love of his life, Paula. Their family quickly grew with the birth of son, Tanner in 2001 and daughter, Genevieve in 2006.
Over the years Michael continued the development and operation of car wash properties. Michael championed green car wash processes and innovations and successfully pioneered numerous water and energy saving technologies.
Michael was an active, involved husband and father. In his free time, Michael enjoyed both recreating outdoors and relaxing at home with his family. Family activities included dirt biking, mountain biking, skiing, camping, and traveling the world.
Michael is survived by his wife, Paula; his children, Tanner (13) and Genevieve (8); parents, Jim and Gayle Higman (Park City); sister, Karen (Bill) Olsen, nephew, Noah Olsen, nieces, Abigail and Sadie Olsen (Avon, Connecticut); mother-in-law, Cherilynn Mundell (Earl Park, Indiana); father-in-law, William Andrews (Bethany, Oklahoma); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 6:30 PM, in the Bald Mountain Room, Silver Lake Lodge (7600 Royal Street, Park City, Utah 84060).
In lieu of gifts, donations in his memory may be made to the Tanner or Genevieve Higman Education Fund at US Bank, 1514 Park Avenue, Park City, Utah 84060; Mountain Town Music, mountaintownmusic.org; or to a charity of your choice.
