Michelle Drechsel

January 29, 1978 — June 7, 2024

South Salt Lake

Michelle Drechsel passed away on June 7, 2024 at her home in South Salt Lake.

On January 29, 1978, our sweet Michelle came into our lives. She was a beautiful bundle of joy! She was the third of our five daughters-right in the middle. We called her Shelly Belly.

Growing up, Michelle attended Monta Vista Elementary, South Jordan Middle School, and was a graduate of Bingham High School in 1996. During high school, Michelle worked at Taco Bell. After graduating, she worked at Target until she was hired on as a preschool teacher at Challenger School. She enjoyed and put her heart into her job. She loved each one of her students and taught for over 10 years. She worked a short time at Dillards while she attended Salt Lake Community College. Michelle graduated in 2010 with a Radiology Technician degree. She was employed as an X- Ray Technician by St. Marks outpatient Offices, then by IHC Memorial Clinic. Recently, she was employed by IHC Salt Lake Clinic. She deeply cherished ALL of her co-workers throughout the years.

Her passions included hiking, rock climbing, biking, snow boarding, wake boarding, and cultivating her plants.

Her biggest loves were her family, her dog Max and cat Nala. We can’t forget to mention how she fed the birds and watched the squirrels in her backyard.

She had many friends that she cherished throughout her life. She was always caring and thoughtful to the needs of others. Unbeknownst to her, she has left a great legacy of caring and love.

In giving up on her battle, she left behind her parents, Bruce and Judy Drechsel, as well as her sisters, Stacey (Matt) Grossenbach, Brendy Carrington, Tina Ohlson, and Danielle (Cade) Morris. She also left behind 16 nieces and nephews. Michelle had a wide circle of extended family that loved her and deeply morn her loss.

She was proceeded in death by Fraternal grandparents, Hyrum and Flora Drechsel. Her Aunt Carol (Drechsel) Jensen, Uncles Lamar Drechsel and Roland Drechsel. Maternal grandparents, Charles and Kathryn Griggs, as well as Maurine Griggs. Her Uncle Chuck Griggs and Aunt Kaylene Griggs.

She will be remembered for her bright green eyes and beautiful smile, her spunky personality and her love for adventure. She showed compassion and was tender hearted towards everyone. Michelle left a lasting impact of service for others. Her memory will be cherished forever by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

See ya later beautiful! Until we meet again - BN2Peachy.
