Miguel Angel Bayona

Our beloved Miguel Angel Bayona, 70, passed away on September 27, 2023 while visiting family and loved ones in El Salvador. Miguel was born in Bolivar, LA Union, El Salvador to his late parents, Alejandra Villatoro and Fernando Bayona. He grew up in San Miguel where he eventually met his wife Marina and started a family. Miguel moved to California in 1989 to provide a better life and future for his family. There in California, he found his faith in the Mormon church. He settled in Utah with his wife, Marina, and he enjoyed fellowship, working, and having his carpet cleaning business.

Miguel enjoyed spending time with the people he cared for and he especially loved to travel and visit with family and friends. He loved watching soccer and he always wanted to help others in any way he could. He was a happy, giving, funny, kind, and hard working man. He will be greatly missed, but we know he is now home in heaven with his wife Marina.

Miguel is survived by his son, Miguel Angel Bayona and Miguel Angel's wife, Shannon Bayona; four grandchildren, Serena Bayona, Gabriel Bayona, Nathaniel Bayona, Julianna Bayona; two great-grandchildren, Tatiana Perez and Zayn Perez. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria Andrea Bayona and Irma Maria Bayona, as well as his extended family.

Miguel was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marina Celia Bayona, his parents; two sisters, Maria Simona Bayona and Maria Elvia Bayona; three brothers, Carlos Humberto Bayona, Luis Alonso Bayona, and Juan Bautista Bayona. Family and friends will be received at Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah 84117. After the service, Miguel will be laid to rest at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 s. Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117
