Miriam DeEsta Katter

Miriam DeEsta Katter, age 91, passed away on September 16, 2026. She was born on December 2, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho, and raised in Rigby, Idaho.

DeEsta married Raymond George Katter on December 3, 1957, and they were later sealed in an LDS temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who lovingly cared for their home and family while Raymond worked to build Katter Brothers Pizzeria and the Pizzand Factory. She always had a homemade meal on the table, and made sure her children were ready for school, and faithfully supported them in all their sports and activities.

DeEsta loved gardening and had a special gift for making things grow. She will also be fondly remembered for her wonderful cooking, especially her homemade dinner rolls, which no one could make quite like she did.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Katter (Janel), Brent Katter (Kristy), and David Katter; her daughter, Jennifer Katter; her brother, Gary Butler; nine wonderful grandchildren; three beautiful great-grandchildren; and her beloved companion, best friend, Louie.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond George Katter.

DeEsta was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed. Her love, strength, and devotion will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

A private graveside service will be held for the family on Friday, September 25th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
