Mollie Jackstien Barlow

November 1, 1921 — April 9, 2011

Our dear Granny, Mollie Jackstien Barlow, age 89, gave her life to serving her family.

She is survived by her children, LaVerl and Nannette (David), grandchildren Leslee, Amy, Krista, and Erin, and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband LaVerl, brothers Harry, Grant, and Herb, sister Frieda, and parents Albert and Johanna.

Mollie passed away on April 9, 2011 with family surrounding her. Always an incredible gardener, Mollie was well known for her beautiful roses and colorful flower beds. But it was her tender care for her family that will be her true legacy.

Mollie was born on November 1st, 1921 in SLC. She married her sweetheart LaVerl (known as Budd to all his friends and family) in the Salt Lake Temple. During WWII Budd served in the Air Force as a bombadier. His departure was difficult, but his safe return home brought her peace and joy. Upon his return they enjoyed a wonderful life raising their two children.

Budd and Mollie were loved by all those who knew them because of their deep commitment to serving and loving others. Their sense of humor made any room light and inviting. They enjoyed years of traveling around the country, and visited friends in Germany. In 1989 Budd passed away unexpectedly. She pressed on, continuing to love and care for her children and grandchildren, and even traveled to Russia.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was one of the first members of the East Millcreek Ninth Ward, and served in many capacities. She was most famous for her incredible road shows. Blessed with the same wonderful neighbors for 50 years, she felt they were her extended family, and we are grateful for their friendships.

Her final years were spent serving her great-grandchildren, always thinking of the next time she would see them. We will miss her dearly, and now look forward to the day when we can see her again, with her loving Budd by her side.

Funeral services will be held in the East Millcreek 9th Ward, 3750 S. Hillside Ln. (2500 E.) on Saturday April 16th, at 12 noon. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to service. A private burial will follow.
