Mui-Ying Wong Si
March 3, 1946 — April 20, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved Mother died peacefully among close family and grandchildren on April 20th, 2023 at Riverton Hospital, Utah. Born in Hat Yai Thailand, she has lived in Thailand, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and the USA. Although she struggled with many health challenges, she had an amazing and adventurous life. She was a risk-taker with an entrepreneurial and loving heart.
She moved to China from Malaysia with her family when she was 4 years old. After getting married and bearing two daughters and a son, she moved her family to Hong Kong for a better life. She encouraged and helped two of her children finish a college education in the US, as well as helping her daughter and family in Hong Kong. She eventually moved to the US to unite with her children’s families here. She enjoyed helping in the raising of her grandchildren, and loved being around them. She loved them with all her heart. She loved traveling and exploring many places and had a lot of wonderful memories. She delighted in gardening, was fond of her pets, and more recently, took pleasure in raising chickens. Her last thoughts and words before passing away were to remind us to plant peonies, roses and dahlias for her, and to take care of her chickens.
She is survived by her husband Nang Kong Si, her three children Vincent Si (Meng Meng) Carmen Leavitt (Matthew) and Tak Long Si (Fa Zhan), nine grandchildren, and two sisters.
She is Preceded in death by her parents Shao Yun Lok and Jou An Wong, her two brothers and one of her sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:30pm Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 3pm to 3:30pm.
Interment will be at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary & Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
Lastly, we greatly appreciate all the doctors and nurses who took part in her care through the years. She will be missed dearly!Service Information
