In Loving Memory of Nanci Lee Vaughn
Nanci Lee Vaughn, born December 14, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, was unexpectedly taken from us on June 29, 2025, in North Salt Lake, Utah. She was 69 years old.
Nanci was a devoted wife, mother, “Wawa”, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Christianson; her children, Chris Nelson (Tyler DeHart-Krahn) of Seattle, WA, Sean Nelson (Amber Hoyopatubbi) of Salt Lake City, UT, and Colin Nelson (Natasha Nelson) of Syracuse, UT; her cherished grandchildren, Taylee and Kade; her sister, Marjie Davis (Corky Warner) of Centerville, UT; nephews Jeremy Davis and Brett Vaughn, Jr.; and many beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Thomas Vaughn, III and Loralie Jean Reese, and her younger brother, Brett Vaughn who sadly passed away six months before her.
Nanci spent many years working in real estate in Bountiful, Utah, and later held various office management and bookkeeping roles. Her professional life was marked by dedication, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Above all, Nanci adored her family—especially her sweet grandchildren, Taylee and Kade, who brought her endless joy. She was a lifelong dog lover, with a special fondness for dachshunds. Her love for the ocean was reflected in her impressive collection of seashells and sand dollars, each one with a memory of peaceful moments by the shore.
Nanci was deeply involved in her community and spent many joyful years dedicating her time to Our Ladies of Charity. Her charismatic spirit and gift for making everyone feel loved and welcome earned her a wide circle of friends, many of whom she kept in touch with since her childhood days in California.
Her legacy is one of warmth, connection, and generosity. Nanci had a way of lighting up a room and making people feel seen and valued. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 1800 S. Orchard Dr. in Bountiful, UT on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather for a church service, followed by a reception, and finally inurnment at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice, in honor of Nanci’s loving and giving spirit.
We love you, Wawa, and we will miss you forever!
