On September 20th, 2025, Heaven welcomed its newest genealogist, snack connoisseur, and all-around saint, Nancy Plagge.
Nancy spent her earthly days teaching, giving, and sharing her time and talents with anyone lucky enough to cross her path. A devoted woman of faith, she lived her beliefs daily—whether she was helping family, cheering on her church community, or enthusiastically piecing together the branches of a family tree that somehow connected everyone to a minor royal or a pirate.
She loved her family fiercely, taught with passion, and gave with joy—but let’s not forget the quirks that made her one-of-a-kind. Nancy had a special fondness for Eggo waffles (never underestimate the power of the Eggo), Oreos (double-stuffed preferred, though any cookie in a storm would do), and Skittles—though she was not above leaving behind a suspicious pile of the less-favored colors. If you ever found a bowl with only yellow and green left, you knew Nancy had already been there.
Her humor, kindness, and generosity will live on in the many lives she touched, though the grocery stores stocking Eggo’s and Oreos will likely notice a dip in sales.
Nancy is now reunited with ancestors she researched so diligently—no doubt already correcting dates, asking questions, and organizing heavenly family reunions.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enough genealogy charts to wallpaper several houses.
In her honor, please enjoy a waffle, a cookie, or a handful of Skittles—she would want you to.
