1929 – 2017

Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Nancy Lillian Whitney Scharman, age 88, passed away October 14, 2017 surrounded by family.  Born May 8, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Byron and Lillian Edith Russell Whitney. Was married to Blaine J. Buck on February 18, 1947 in Evanston, Wyoming. Married Gordon Hy Scharman on November 26, 1970 at her sister Tani's house in Evanston, Wyoming.

Longtime resident of Salt Lake City, Utah. A member of the LDS church. Last living grandchild of Orson F. Whitney. She loved music, art and talking with everyone. She will be deeply missed.

Survived by her children Brenda, David, and Michael; the Scharman family; the Armstrong/Schomas family; the Buck family; 14 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren; also by many loved friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Parleys 6th Ward, 2350 South 2100 East. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening, October 19, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
