Nola J. Buxton passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022.
Nola was born September 8, 1938 in Murray, Utah to Albert G. Johnson and LoRene Mines Johnson. She was the oldest of 2 children.
Nola grew up in Murray, Utah, graduating from Murray High School, and then getting her degree in Cosmetology. She married her eternal companion Ronald Buxton on September 30, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple, and were happily married for 61 years. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Nola held numerous callings in Primary, Stake Young Women, Relief Society, and was a piano accompanist on numerous occasions. She was also very proud of her pioneer heritage and participated for many years as a member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers organization.
Nola was person of MANY talents. She was a beautiful seamstress, loved the arts, she enjoyed anything music, singing and performing any chance she was given, including entertaining us at home with her funny sense of humor. She was a good listener, loved her family with all her heart, and was always interested in their lives. Today there is a big hole in our hearts, for she will be greatly missed.
Nola is survived by her sister Karen Pulley, three Children, Pam Slade (Jim), Blaine Buxton
(Marcie), Angela Muir (Troy), 17 Grandchildren, and 22 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Ronald Buxton.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cannon Stake Center, 934 Fremont Avenue, SLC, UT.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 1, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary (6500 So. Redwood Road), and from 9:00-9:45 A.M. prior to the services at the ward building on Friday.
Interment will be at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary at 12:00 P.M. following the service.Service Information
