Norma Hansen Child

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, Aunt, and Friend, Norma Marquerite Hansen Child, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep February 1, 2009 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born June 5th 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Archer Norman and Ida Marie Johnson Hansen. Married Asa Lonson child November 5th, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Asa passed away 1987.

Her talents were many, quilts, sewing, painting, redecorating, refinishing, and restoring. Norma loved to dance and roller skate, garage sailing and long walks where she always found lucky pennies. She loved life. Norma lived a long life filled with service to her family, friends, and the LDS Church. She served as Relief Society President, MIA President, teacher, stake leader, and in many other positions, always giving 110%. She held family reunions that everyone looked forward to each year. She loved to make you smile with a story or a joke. She was known for her love of flowers and her beautiful gardens. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Norma is survived by; three daughters, Connie Gudmundson, Judy Dunford, Wendy Brewster; three sisters; Zena Casey, Marcel Montgomery, Carol Memmott; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Husband, son, Asa "Skip", two sisters, Dora Payne, Lucille Bryson; grand-daughter, Lori Argyle.
