Nyla Rae Adair, Age: 84, Died on February 9th, 2026, in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born March 24, 1941, in Moroni, Utah, to Albert and Lucille Cloward.
She had a great childhood growing up in Moroni with her sisters Joann and Shanna, her brother Gary, all her cousins, Nunleys, Clowards, and Brunos, and all her wonderful friends.
She graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1959. Nyla moved to Salt Lake to work and graduated from beauty school. She went on to work at First Security Bank.
Nyla married LaZell Adair on September 21, 1963, in the Manti Temple. They had 62 wonderful years together. She loved being a mother and was blessed with a wonderful family: RaLynne Takeda (Rich Brady), Jenice (Dean) Caso, Mason (Barbara), Sheldon (Jenny), Cathy (Brendon) Norris, Barbie, and Kitty (Ron) Jensen. Nyla enjoyed many things throughout her life; 4H Leader, PTA President, and many church callings. Nyla and LaZell served a mission at the Utah State Prison for 3 years.
She loved to sew and make quilts for her family. She loved camping with her family. She loved watching her grandkids play sports and going to their concerts.
She is survived by her husband, all her children, her grandchildren Jeremy Takeda (James Mayo), Wyatt (Hailie) Caso, Yvette (Katy) Adair, Cody Adair (Caleb Bede), Nathan Adair, Trevor Caso (Adrianne Hoopes), Jacob Adair (Oakley Small), Russell (Tori) Norris, Preston Norris, Sean Adair (Tammy Phung), great granddaughter Kemper Caso and great grandson Baby Norris, Nicole Rice, Michael Brady, Daniel Brady, Noah Brady, Maddy and Morgan Rice, sisters-in-law Lucy Bodily and Norma Cloward, many nieces and nephews, and all her bonus children she loved in 40 years of daycare.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, mother-in-law and father-in-law, her sisters and brothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and son-in-law Michael Takeda.
We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Hospice for Utah (Wendy, Sara, Cheri, and Serena) for their great care of Nyla.
Funeral Service will be held on February 17, 2026, at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on February 17, 2026 9:00-10:30 am. All services will be held at the LDS Church on 4950 South 1950 West, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
