Ofelia C. "Shorty" Reyes (Jaramillo)

Ofelia C. “Shorty” Reyes (Jaramillo), age 95, passed away on December 1, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Chamisal, New Mexico to Elisco Casaus and Cleotilde Duran Casaus. She married Jose S. Reyes on May 26, 1949. 

Ofelia was a homemaker. She loved learning how to cook and how to dance. 

Ofelia is survived by her daughters Tina (Dennis) Jenkins, Angie (Randy) Hogan; son Armando (Cathy) Reyes; grandchildren Sharee Jenkins, Karla (Scott) Jenkins, Chad, Eric, Brett, Colby, Joe, and Andrew Reyes, Bernadette (Jared) Martin, Deric Hogan, Larry Dean, Joshua Reyes; great-grandchildren Brooklin and Paityn Hogan, Tatum and Azzi Martin, Aspen and Talon Reyes, Jaclyn and Alizay Reyes, Michael and Ryan (Kjae) Jenkins, and Baylee Boggs; great-great-granddaughter Maybelle and one in the oven; stepchildren Delsy, Gloria, Phillip, Kathy, Angie Jaramillo and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; husband Jose Reyes; sons Lorenzo and Roger Reyes; son-in-law Randy Hogan; daughter-in-law Tony Reyes; grandchildren Ashley Reyes and Colby Joe Reyes; second husband Albert Jaramillo; stepchildren Gilbert, Paul, Tony, Danny, Juju, and Albert Jr. Jaramillo.

The family would like to thank Creekside Assisted & Senior Living, Sarah, Lejla, and the angels that lovingly cared for mom. They would like to thank Ovation Hospice, Jennifer, Rachel, and all the angels that also lovingly cared for mom. 

You may visit with the family at a viewing on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 7832 Allen Street, Midvale, Utah. A viewing and Rosary will be prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment following services at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
