Olga "Milly" Mueller

Milly Mueller - golfer, skier, Life Master, bridge player, Red Hatter and world traveler, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016, one day after she marked her 89th birthday.

Milly was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was the eldest daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, William and Mary Palosky.  She and her two sisters, Elsie and Rose grew up during the depression and her experiences shaped her life forever.  Making ends meet was hard and she learned the value of a dollar and how to save and stretch her money.

After moving to the states, she contracted Tuberculosis and ended up meeting Floyd Mueller in, of all places, a TB hospital.  They attended the University of Washington, later married, settled in Lynnwood, Washington and raised two children, Carl and Cheryl.

Milly LOVED (this isn't a strong enough word) the beautiful Pacific Northwest.  She loved being near the water and surrounded by evergreens.  She learned to ski, golf, bowl, play bridge (and blackjack) and loved trying new things.  She loved to cook and entertain and enjoyed traditional Ukrainian food – pierogis, cabbage rolls and kielbasa – at all the holidays.  Milly had a keen mind and was very well suited in her career as a legal secretary.  She was a grandmother of six girls – Trish, Theresa, Callie, Jenny, Laura and Heidi and spent as much time as she could with them.   She moved to Salt Lake and lived to see the birth of three great grandchildren – Scarlet, Henry (a boy, finally!) and Hazel.  She adored this newest generation of the family.

By far, her greatest passion was travel.  On a secretary's salary, she pinched every penny and traveled the world.  She loved seeing new places and experiencing the food and culture everywhere she went.  She has now departed on her greatest trip ever, to live with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for all eternity.

Please join her family and friends for a luncheon in her honor at Noon, Saturday, January 7, 2017 followed by a memorial service at 1:30pm at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church, 8931 South 3200 West, West Jordan, UT.
