Opal Tondro

1913 ~ 2012

"On Wednesday, December 12, Opal Ruth Gustaveson Tondro, 99 and a half years, passed into immortality of cancer and age related causes. Married to Darrell Raymond Tondro in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on Jan 16, 1935, this special love of her life preceded her in death, Dec 1971. A devoted mother, she is survived by a sister: Bernice Gehring and children Wayne Darrell Tondro, Hot Springs, AK; Joan Opal Jensen, SLC, UT; La Rene Carol Tondro, Arlington, VA; Keith Raymond Tondro, SLC, UT; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. A Relief Society President in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithful Salt Lake Temple worker, she was known for her gracious love and generous service. The last 18 years of her life she made her home in Arlington, VA, she continued to serve and was loved by many."

A viewing will be held at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 So. 2300 E, SLC, UT on Friday, Dec 21 from 10 - 11 AM. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
