Orson Kirby "Kirby" Davis

May 6, 1937 — September 28, 2025

Orson Kirby "Kirby" Davis passed away on September 28, 2025. Born May 6, 1937, in Orangeville, UT, to Robert Glen Davis and Elva Tatton Davis, Kirby was the third youngest of 11 children. Kirby graduated from South Emery High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, Lyndsey Ruth Majors, on July 9, 1960, and they raised three daughters in Murray.

In 1964, Kirby began a 40-year career at Peterbilt, retiring in 2000, but continued delivering trucks for Peterbilt post-retirement. He was widely known and respected in the trucking industry.

Kirby was an avid runner, completing 26 marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other adventurous activities.

Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2000, Kirby remained active for many years; and he fought until his end to stay busy.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shawna, his parents, and his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Lyndsey; daughters Sherri (Barry) and Michelle (Gavin); 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Kirby's life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, at 11am. Viewings will be held Friday, October 10, 6-8pm and Saturday 10-10:45am.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Legacy Village Assisted Living Center in St. George for the love and care they provided Dad during the last few years of his life.
