Patricia Ann Kline, 75, of Murray, Utah, passed away the morning of July 4, 2015, from complications of congestive heart failure.
Patti was born on April 5, 1940, in Sunbury, PA, to Robert T. Schaffner & Sarah J. Rupp.
Patti attended Sunbury High School where she met and then married her high school sweetheart, Richard ("Dick") Kline, in 1961. During the 53 years of marriage, they raised two children; Jeffrey Scott Kline (Marilyn) of West Jordan, UT, and Rebecca Jo Trigg (Allan) of Tooele, UT.
In addition to her husband and children, Patti is survived by her brother, Terry Schaffner (Betty) of Dalmatia, PA; and sister, Suzi Ammon of Sunbury, PA. She has four granddaughters: Tara Lunn (Tim), Kristen Mellor (Rodney), Rachelle Kline (Austin Green, fiancé), and Natalie Kline. She has two great-grandchildren: Kegan and Kaylin Lunn.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert T. Schaffner, Jr.; whom she admired for his unselfishness and protective brotherly love.
She was a valued employee of the Bell Telephone Company, Idaho State University, and Questar Gas Company where she retired in 1998. Patti was a Life Master duplicate bridge player, Utah Jazz fan; enjoyed knitting, bowling, swimming, and genealogy. She valued a strong work ethic and continuous personal improvement which will serve as an example to her children and grandchildren.
She was a happy, fun-loving person who shared her love of life with everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. We are grateful for Patti's smile, kind words and her characteristic laugh.
She gave her love in the most meaningful way – with a caring spirit and a generous heart.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Encompass Hospice staff and all of the other health care professionals that attended to Patti's needs over the years.
