Patrick Ralph Sohn, age 45, passed away peacefully January 31, 2026, after a long battle with liver disease.
Patrick was born August 12, 1980, in Bountiful, Utah, to Ralph and Loyola Wallberg Sohn. He was given the nickname Peewee because he was so tiny at birth.
Pat graduated from West High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he perfected his sailor’s vernacular and sense of humor. He served as a maintenance technician on aircraft electronics systems for the Navy, and continued in the Naval Reserve. He was honorably discharged in 2004.
Patrick found his life partner, Melissa Marie Cahoon in 2011. They married on October 1, 2018 and Pat gained a family – Melissa’s sons, Riley and Dallen, and her service dog, Roscoe (they later adopted Chirpa, King of the Wookies). Pat loved his supporting role in their lives and embraced the entire family as his own. He lost Melissa in 2022 to complications associated with systemic lupus.
Pat worked for UTA as a mechanic at TRAX and for Frito-Lay as a warehouseman. He worked at the VA Hospital until his health failed him.
Pat was funny and naughty, but had a big heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He dabbled in gardening, bottling and beer making. He enjoyed the big family get togethers at Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the barbeques and Pat loved a really good campfire. Patrick lived life to the fullest. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Patrick is survived by stepsons, Riley (Amanda) Cahoon, North Ogden; Dallen Cahoon, Bluffdale; brother, Waldemar (Karen) Sohn; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, and Roscoe and Chirpa. Preceded in death by wife, Melissa, and his parents.
