Paul Wesley Hamilton

Paul Wesley Hamilton was called home on December 28th, 2025, he was 70 years old. A beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was born on February 15, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lorin Dean Hamilton and Norma Mae Schow (Hamilton).

Faith, service and generosity were foundational to him. Paul served a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Independence, Missouri area. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in business and finance from the University of Utah. An entrepreneur at heart, Paul founded his own roofing company while still a student and later became a successful general contractor. Paul’s true professional passion lay in creating beautiful spaces for families. He built over 300 homes throughout Salt Lake and Davis Counties, winning awards for his designs in the "Parade of Homes".

Beyond his work, our dad was a man of resilience, vision, and dedication to his family. He even named subdivisions or home designs after his children, a testament to how intertwined his work was with his love for us. He had a deep passion for history; he enjoyed learning and discussing any historical period. Most of all, he loved the outdoors, spending his leisure time golfing, skiing, and boating. These hobbies were often shared with those he loved, creating memories we will cherish forever.

Paul is survived by his children: Jacob (Lacie) Hamilton, Brooke (Jeff) Bastar, Paige (Chase) De Jong, Chelsea (Nathan) Porter, and Ashley (Parker) Mabey; 14 grandchildren; Wife, Gladys Hamilton (33 years); his sister, Madeline Keith, and his brothers, Sanford and Mark Hamilton. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dean, and his sister, Connie.

A daytime viewing will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 10-11:30 AM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary at 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. Funeral services are to follow immediately after.
