"Rosey"

Paul William Rosander, the youngest of 6 children, was born to John Morris and Jenny Schwartz Rosander on May 29, 1926, in Salt Lake City, UT. On October 21, 1948, Dad married the love of his life, his best friend, tireless care giver and eternal companion, Wanda Marchant, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they faithfully raised and lovingly provided temporal and spiritual support for their 7 children. Their posterity also includes 32 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren with 3 babies soon to join the family circle.

Dad graduated from South High School in 1943 then served in the Army Air Corp near the end of WWII. He enjoyed participating with the marching band while attending the U of U where he finally graduated in 1959, 15 years (and 6 children) after starting at the U, setting an example of determination and the importance of furthering his education.

Affectionately and professionally known as "Rosey" throughout his adult life, Dad was a respected car salesman who was well-regarded in that industry as an honest, hard-working man. He spent most of his years with the Spartan Jeep Dealership in Murray.

He was an avid supporter of the Utah Jazz and the Utah Utes, and for the past few decades proudly, and nearly daily, wore red from the top of his head to the tips of his toes. He reserved the greatest portion of his support, however, for any and all teams on which his children and grandchildren participated and enjoyed several opportunities to coach those teams.

He loved his family and the Savior, Jesus Christ. He devoted one morning a week for 35 years to serve as a veil worker in the Salt Lake Temple. In turn, he is loved and his example will be cherished by his posterity. Dad's greatest desire is for each of them to know and love the Lord as he does.

Dad quietly passed into eternity on Sunday evening, November 10, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. Surviving him are his dearly loved wife, Wanda, 6 of his 7 children: Sharon McMullin, Becky (Clark) Nielsen, Paul (Diane Johnson), Russ (Kathi Brown), Diana Hamilton and John "Rosey" (Toni Houston), all of his 77 grand and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Marchant in-laws. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy, a son-in-law, Dale Hamilton, his parents and 5 siblings.

Thank you to the wonderful care givers at Spring Creek Care Center and One Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at the Valley View 11th Ward Chapel, 1925 E 4101 S (Gundersen Ln), at 11:00 am on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.
