Peggy M. Lyon

November 24, 1959 — October 31, 2023

Magna, Utah

Peggy M. Lyon (63) passed away unexpectedly on the evening of October 31, 2023.

Born November 24, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, to Avan and Dorsie Probasco.

Beloved wife and companion of William David Lyon for 43 years.

Peggy was a graduate of the Layton High School class of ’78. She then continued her education at Utah Technical College, earning a certificate in Culinary Science. She worked at Southland Corp. with her cousin Sunday and friends, making sandwiches for 7-11. When her children started school, she became a Webster Elementary PTA volunteer. She started a program to boost students’ self-esteem and served a term as PTA President; meanwhile, teaching for Granite School District as a substitute. Later, working as a valued employee at the Coffee Club in Taylorsville, she met and acquired many friends. After retiring in 2010, she always looked forward to her weekly visits to the coffee shop to visit with cherished friends.

Peggy prioritized family dinners, always making everyone’s favorites and baking her delicious homemade rolls she was known for (one was never enough). She never forgot anyone’s birthday or anniversary. She valued all her family and friends, many of whom were lifelong. Her loving and caring nature will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; children, Jeff Lyon, Dustin (Cassie) Lyon, Kristie (Tom) Breeze, and Jason (Carmen) Lyon; nine grandchildren; her mother, Dorsie Probasco; stepmother, Tirzah Probasco; and brothers, Everett and Kevin Probasco.

She is preceded in death by her father, Avan Probasco, and brother, Robert Probasco.
