Our beloved Peter left this earth on October 24, 2008. Through his work, example, and generous spirit, he has touched many lives. Born the youngest of eleven children in Schneidemuhl, Germany, Peter was cherished by his family from the moment of his birth, and throughout his life he was adored by everyone who was privileged to know him. Peter spent his youth in Germany, where he learned his glazing profession before immigrating to Utah in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and later served an LDS mission to Vienna, Austria. He married Renate H. Tegge in the Salt Lake Temple in 1965. He later married Lynne Daynes Gardner in the Salt Lake Temple in 1995. He started his business, Beehive Glass, in 1967. Peter had a great zest for life and he enjoyed many activities, including: soccer, tennis, chess, waterskiing, boating, reading, and traveling. He also had a wonderful sense of humor. Working at his business was one of his greatest passions and one which he shared with his children and many other family members. Though his physical body slowed him down these last years, his enthusiasm and optimism couldn't be contained. Though our time with him was far too short, we are forever touched by his love and dedication to us, his family. Peter is survived by his wife, Lynne Birth; his children: Oliver (Melinda), Teresa (Brad) Anderson, Monica (Robert) Hoesch, Ryan (Cynthia), Lisa (Brek) Bolton, Shannon (Bill) Sundberg; his siblings: Edith (Walter) Rohloff, Christa Koenig, Werner, Brigitte (Jerry) Foster; his 18 beloved grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife (Renate), his parents, (Friedrich and Emma), his siblings: Gerhard, Ruth Daniels, Irmgard Koenig, Nephi, Eva, and Margarete Christensen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Olympus 5th Ward, 3070 East Nila Way (4120 South). Friends may visit with the family Monday evening at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and at the church Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
