Our Guiding Light 7/2/1949 – 10/8/2025
Our beloved Peter Paul Trujillo, loving husband, dad, and grandpa, tragically passed away on the 8th of October 2025. He was born on July 2nd, 1949, to Paul E Trujillo and Theresa Velarde. He was married to Veronica F. Trujillo on February 14, 1968.
Pete was handsome, charming, and full of charisma. If you met him, you immediately felt like you had a friend and were welcomed. He had a big heart and showed love, kindness, and faith in everything he did.
Pete spent his career working in construction and gained experience in many areas. He loved talking about his days on the job, especially when he got to run the big equipment, aka (Tonka trucks). His face would light up when he remembered those times. He eventually retired from Kennecott Copper as a Heavy Equipment Foreman Operator after a work injury. My father was an honorable and hardworking man, and his strong work ethic lives on in his children.
Pete loved the outdoors, which he called God’s playground. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time in parks, and working in his yard. Being outside on a nice day was his happy place. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and unity and faith meant everything to him. He cherished time with his wife, grandchildren, children, and even his puppy grandchildren. Every visit and phone call from his siblings brightened his day. Going to the movies and out to eat at one of his favorite places, Red Lobster, was some of his favorite pastime things he liked to do as he got a little bit older. He loved watching old cowboy movies. He enjoyed heartfelt films, the History Channel, and anything his wife or daughter/granddaughters picked. He also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
He loved mornings, always cheerful with his coffee while watching the news and The Price Is Right, even if the volume was usually too loud. He made the best sandwiches, which made fishing trips even better. You gave us the best laughs and warmest hugs. Thank you for being our rock, our best friend, and our strength.
Your strength, unwavering faith, resilience, unconditional love, guidance, and wisdom will stay with us always. We will miss you deeply, but now you can rest in peace and watch over us with our brother. We love you more than words can say, now and forever.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica Trujillo; Son, Paul Trujillo; Daughter, Patrica and Kenneth Kinsey; Daughter, Victoria Trujillo, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Sister Marcie Candelario, Sister Dave & Gloria Sandoval, Sister, Felix & Fran Trujillo, and Sister, Chris Patrick.
He is preceded in death by Father Paul E Trujillo, Mother Theresa Velarde, Son Marko Angelo Trujillo, Sister Katherine Wilson, Brother Tony Trujillo, Nephew Jesse Utley, Brother In Brother-in-Law Randy Patrick.
