Philo Arnold Ellsworth was born February 21, 1939 in a log cabin in McKinnon, Wyoming. Arnold is the sixth of nine children born to Milton Dixie Ellsworth and Florence Isabelle Edwards. He attended schools in Uintah County and had a thirst for knowledge and learning. As a "self taught" man, there is nothing he couldn't do. He served our country in the Armed Forces in Germany and also at Fort Meade, Maryland before being honorably discharged.
He married his sweetheart, MarJean Cordner on February 3, 1972 and is survived by her, their four daughters and sons-in-law: Elise MarnAC. Horman (Brook), Cheryl Dawn Dotson (Michael), Shanna Jean Stromberg (Jeffrey) and Janae Sarah Arnold (Richard); six amazing grandchildren: Kaylee, Conner, Kaius, Madeline, AmAC.ah and Joshua; and siblings: Marie Hasselblad (Raymond), Kenneth Ellsworth (Norma) and Carol Tuiono (Tomasi). Arnold is predeceased by brothers George [Juanita], Milton [Shirley] and by sisters Eudora, Mildred and Corrine Johnson [Mike].
Arnold retired from Hill Air Force Base in 2004 with over forty years of service. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved traveling and teaching his children about nature and Heavenly Father's wondrous world while camping. He took pride in spoiling his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, always putting the needs of his family before his own.
Having valiantly fought a difficult battle with health problems for many years, his family is grateful for his strength and love. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses for their support and care. We also appreciate friends and neighbors for the meals and kindnesses given at this difficult time.
Arnold is loved and admired by his family and friends. He has been called a "true friend," one that could be trusted to be fair and honest with everyone.
He will be greatly missed but we know he will remain close, as his love for his family will sustain us.
