Portia Lee Petersen

On January 14th, Portia passed away in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was preceded in death by both parents, Purl Franklin and Carma Checketts Petersen, brother and his wife, LaRoy Franklin and Karlyn Zierold Petersen, and sister ReNae Petersen Geddes.  Survived by Gordon G. Geddes, brother in-law, and 43 nieces and nephews, both great and great-great, who affectionately call her "The Ant".  In her words, "Goodbye to those who were there for me over the years- dear Rose and family, sweet Julie, to all my Wellington friends, to the anonymous couple who gave financial help, to Heidi, and to Kurt and Jeny, for all your help at the end.  If you have good memories, keep them.  If you have bad memories, forget them.  Please no flowers, but give the money to your favorite charity.  The Gospel is true, and when we meet on the other side, I'll say, I told you so!"

Small graveside service will be held at Hyde Park Cemetery on 2/3/18 at 11:00 a.m.  No Sunday dress!
