Randy (Wiscomb) Richmond

Randy Richmond, 72, passed away from complications of congestive heart failure on October 24, 2015 after a 20 year valiant struggle with escalating health problems. Randy was born September 22, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the oldest child of Wayne Kasteler and Helen Brandley Wiscomb. She graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City in 1961 and completed a Bachelor's degree in clothing and textiles and theater design from the University of Utah. While a college student, she met her algebra teacher who became her husband, Leonard Ray Richmond. They were married on February 11, 1977. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Randy was involved in many aspects of costume design and crafts. Artistically creative, she used her talents to contribute to design and creation of parade floats, costuming for theater, decorations for special events, and performing groups. In her later years she became interested and actively involved in working on family history. She loved to cook and enjoyed the challenge of trying to replicate recipes from her favorite restaurants. She really enjoyed travel as her health allowed.

Randy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Leonard Richmond, and five children; David Richmond (Linda), South Jordan, Utah; Michael Richmond (Rose), Gilbert, Arizona; Evan Richmond (Alicia), Salt Lake City, Utah; Chelsi Hollingshead (Scott), St. George, Utah; and Ian Richmond, Cottonwood Heights, Utah; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson; and by her father, Wayne K. Wiscomb and step-mother, Marg Cannon; sisters Chrisanne Olsen, Allison Van Vranken, Jennifer Smith and Amy Moth Iverson; and brother Bret Wiscomb. Randy was preceded in death by her mother Helen Wiscomb and her brother Wayne B. Wiscomb.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, at 11:00 AM at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 South 2900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday prior to the services.
