Raymond Willard Johnson

Raymond Willard Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 24, 1936, in Ola, Arkansas, Ray lived a life defined by love, hard work, and devotion to his family.

On February 1, 1964, Ray married the love of his life, Tricia Torrans, and together they shared more than six decades of marriage filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love. He took great pride in his family, cherishing every moment spent with his daughter, Christi Park, and her husband, Sam Park, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Among his beloved grandchildren are Austin Jensen and his spouse, Kalee Jensen, and Ashley Bowles, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-granddaughters: Brynlee, Lindyn, and Railiegh, who were the light of his later years. He is survived by his brother, Robert Johnson and preceded in death by his parents, Syble and Clarence Johnson.

Ray was known for his kindness toward everyone and everything, and for being so thoughtful in the way he cared for others. His gentle spirit, generosity, and compassion left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ray dedicated 36 years of his career to Associated Food Stores, where he was admired for his hard work, loyalty, and integrity. His colleagues and friends respected him not only for his work ethic but also for the kindness and thoughtfulness he extended to everyone around him.

Outside of work, Ray lived life to the fullest. He had a deep love for horses, enjoyed the quiet patience of hunting, and delighted in the adventure of geocaching. One of his greatest joys was attending the Western Legends Festival in Kanab each year with his wife, a tradition that reflected his love of the West and his devotion to sharing experiences with those he loved most.

Ray also shared a special bond with his faithful dog, Riley. To Ray, Riley was more than a pet—he was a companion, a source of comfort, and a reminder of the simple joys in life. As the saying goes, "And God made a dog," and in Riley, Ray found a true friend who loved him unconditionally.

Ray will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his thoughtful heart, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. Ray's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

A service to honor Ray's life will be held later in October 2025 @ St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S Redwood Road in West Jordan. Friends and Family are invited in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived.
