Raymond Harrison Shaw, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away August 1, 2011. He was born on April 11, 1918 in Logan, Utah to Emilie Marie Christensen and Matthew Harrison Shaw.
Ray was raised in Logan, Utah. He served an LDS church mission in Hawaii from 1939-1941. After his mission he graduated from Utah State University. He worked hard to further his education receiving his Masters Degree in 1944 from the University of Denver.
Ray married Ruth McConnel on June 3, 1945, solemnized in the Logan Temple 4 days later. They had three children together. Ruth preceded him in death, and he later married Cleo Monson Hooper on August 21, 1986. She also preceded him in death. Ray enjoyed his 25 years of service in the Salt Lake Temple. He loved family, fishing, and friends.
Ray is survived by his children, Ann (Jerry) Fullmer, John (Lani) Shaw, Mary Beth (Gregg) Sheppard; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Butler 11th Ward, 1845 East 7200 South. Friends and family can visit Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
