Rebecca Sue Larsen was born on June 1st, 1953, to Joseph Young Larsen Jr and Carol Joan Dame Larsen. She passed away peacefully after facing kidney disease with strength and grace on April 22, 2026, age 72. Rebecca was the 2nd of 6 children and loved by her siblings. She was gifted at making and building lasting relationships. She grew up in a home with parents who provided, loved, and nurtured her. From this foundation, family has always been the center of her life.
Rebecca served. She was mindful of others, and no one went unnoticed. She served in everything from cub scouts, Relief Society President, to teaching seminary classes in a small town of Alaska. She found joy serving in her other church assignments and ministering one-by-one. All who knew Rebecca, knew she loved her Savior and that is why she served.
In 1997, she met the love of her life, Lorenzo Orona. Though both had experienced divorce and were not seeking a relationship, their meeting was a testament to God’s greater plan. Together, they united in marriage, lovingly blending their families into one. From then on they devoted their lives to each other, building a bond defined by love, loyalty, and an unbreakable friendship.
Rebecca found her greatest joy in gathering with her children and grandchildren, often around a table filled with board games and laughter. She looked forward to every family gathering and holiday, where her warm, lingering hugs became a cherished tradition. Selfless to her core, she gave generously of all she had—often setting aside her own needs to ensure her grandchildren felt deeply loved, especially on their birthdays. She left a legacy of love, and her posterity will forever be blessed.
Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Lorenzo; their children, Greg (Oly), Tricia, Jeremy, Jennifer (Brandon), Ben, Mary, Adam, and Angela (Jacob). She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Cindy, Lori (Kevin), Elizabeth (Angel), and Troy (Crystal).
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason, and by her sibling, Joseph lll.
Her love lives on in the words she and Lorenzo shared each day: “I will always love you, forever and ever, and for eternity. Amen.”
