Renee Robinson Andersen

February 22, 1928 — January 23, 2023

On Monday, January 23, 2023, Renee Andersen, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away at the age of 94. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beautiful daughter of Joseph and Mae Robinson of Salina, Utah. She was born in the lovely small town of Elsinore, Utah on February 22, 1928. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many important positions and loved to go to the temple on a consistent basis. She loved the lord with all her heart and had a very strong testimony of the restored gospel.
Renee married the love of her life Dee Andersen on June 11, 1947, in the Manti Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They met at the Monroe Hot Springs at the young age of 14 where he tried to kiss her and she slapped him in response. They had an eternal relationship, and could not go to sleep each night without holding hands. They had three wonderful children, Sam Andersen, Carol (Jim) Lewis , and Joe (Hazel) Andersen, with eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She had the ability to light up a room and make everybody feel special and loved. She was a truly talented woman and excelled in everything she did. She was great at crafts, painting, sewing, canning, quilting, chopping wood, cheerleading, fishing, hunting and moving furniture at 94 years of age. Her favorite thing to do in life was to spend time with family and friends and spend days fishing with her father.
Renee grew up in a large family with 3 brothers and 6 sisters. The brothers and sisters were very close and spent many years together celebrating birthdays and holidays. Renee had fond memories of playing in her father’s coal yard and getting dirty. Renee loved spending time with Dee’s brothers and their families. They all spent many years together in St. George where they each purchased a park model home to spend each winter down in the warmer climate. They spent the winters hiking, quilting, sewing, and having fun together.
Her love and spirit will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great example to all who met her, but especially to her family.
Preceded in death by: her sweetheart Dee,  parents, Mae Hanchett and Jack Robinson; and siblings: Joye O’Berry,  Art Robinson, BH Robinson, Pauline Fox, Peggy Ann Robinson, Joseph Dan Robinson, Gertrude Robinson, and Rea Barlow. She is survived by her sister Anna Mae Barnes.
