Renee Petersen Workman

Nov 26, 1935 — Jul 13, 2026

Oh, what a beautiful morning,

Oh, what a beautiful day.

I’ve got a beautiful feeling

Everything’s going my way.

This poor old aching body has gone from head, shoulders, knees, and toes to everything that hurts, to the next step of no more pain. I am now with my loving companion Keith and all my family and friends that have passed on before me.

Renee was born on November 26, 1935, in Murray, Utah to George Clarence and Murial May Rausch Petersen. She was the fifth of six children George C. Petersen (Evelyn), Dorothy Wallberg (Albert), Betty Petersen, Victor Petersen (Evelyn), and Mack Petersen (Vickie).

Mom and dad were married for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on July 20, 1953, and blessed with three sons and a daughter, Steve (Sheree,) Laurie Stringfellow, (Brent,) Gary (Melinda,) Randy (Sandy.) Sixteen grandchildren and fifty great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Keith, grandsons Justin and Adrian, her parents and four of her siblings. She is survived by her children and brother Vic.

She was grateful to serve in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including primary president for two years, relief society president for eight years under two bishops, and a mission with dad to the Oregon Eugene Mission, serving the entire time in Gold Beach, Oregon.

Mom and dad spent their entire lives in ministering and serving others, whether by assignment or not, many times anonymously, and “with the pure love of Christ.”

Mom’s first “paying job” was catching and selling nightcrawlers as a young girl, for her younger brother’s business while he recuperated from a broken leg. She worked at Hyland Floral where she met dad. Their eternal companionship began in this workplace romance. She later worked at Dunford Bakers. After marrying dad, she worked for many years, on and off, as a bank teller for First Security Bank.

One of the highlights of their retired years was traveling the world, serving as tour guides on sixty-one group tours, over twelve years for Webb Tours.

Mom was famous for her chocolate eclairs, fresh peach pie, zucchini bread, and marshmallow brownies.

Mom and dad, we are eternally grateful for all that we were taught. For the memories that we made. For everything you sacrificed to give us the life and happiness we have enjoyed with our families.

“We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.”
