In loving memory of Ricardo Gonzalez Zermeño, a soul devoted to our Creator, he embodied qualities of unwavering love for God, loyalty, boundless compassion for those in need, and an enduring dedication to his family. On the morning of September 2, 2023, in Taylorsville, Utah, Ricardo Gonzalez, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and grace.
Ricardo Gonzalez was born on May 23, 1930, in Mexico City, Mexico to his loving parents, Bernardo Martinez Gonzalez and Maria Zermeño Guzman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eduardo and Victor Gonzalez, his sister, Ana Maria (Davila), and his son, Gerardo David.
Ricardo cherished the company of his family, embarking on countless adventures with them and exploring different states in Mexico. He pursued a career as a civil engineer, and he was a successful business owner. Ricardo had an appreciation for the arts including musicals, theater, and classical music. He was an avid dancer, and he would immerse himself in the pages of captivating books and literature. His unwavering devotion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints illuminated his life, as he tirelessly answered the calls of duty with diligence and courage, inspiring numerous young individuals, including his five sons, to embark on mission journeys.
In 1988, Ricardo made the life-changing decision to move to Utah, driven by his heartfelt desire to keep his beloved family close together.
Ricardo leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his loving wife, Agripina, and their children: Bernardo Antonio; Maria Alicia (Bryan) and her husband Jose; Ernesto; Ariadna (Crockett) and her husband Mitchell, Richard Jr. and his wife Marina, David and his wife Cecilia, and Daniel and his wife Michelle. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Maria del Carmen Gonzalez.
A memorial service to celebrate Ricardo’s life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Memorial Redwood Mortuaries Cemeteries located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. The funeral service and burial will immediately follow at the same location. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who join us in commemorating Ricardo’s remarkable journey on earth. Please wear white or light colors (dark pants are fine).
