Richard Smith Hart, 68, passed away August 21, 2012 in Pleasant Grove, Utah after a one-year battle with cancer.
Born August 23, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to A.W. Mickey Hart and Helen Smith Hart, Richard was a graduate of the University of Utah and served an LDS mission to Dusseldorf, Germany. He was part-owner of Hart Brothers Music, founded by his father. Richard married the love of his life, Sandra Joyce Anderson, on June 5, 1981 in the Logan Utah LDS temple. He possessed an unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many LDS church callings throughout his life.
While growing up, Richard enjoyed playing many sports, especially basketball, baseball and track. He deeply enjoyed family history research, playing games with family, reading, and telling stories about his ancestors.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Steve) and granddaughter, Naomi; four step-children, Michelle, Curtis (Angela), Matthew (Jessica), and Shane; 13 step-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (Doug) and brother, Michael (Jody). He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melodee; and his wife, Sandy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27 at 11:00am at the Wilford Stake Center, 3080 S 1765 E, SLC. A viewing will be held Sunday, August 26 from 6-8pm at the same location, also Monday from 9:30-10:30am prior to the services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
